I grew up in a time when it was already firmly believed that a “foreign” breakfast of cold milk and cereal was not only convenient and perhaps for some a step up on the socioeconomic ladder but actually better nutritionally…remember those milk cartons and Kellogg’s boxes that declared how many vitamins the products had been fortified with? And I did love my Frosted Flakes, but I do miss the rare chances I got to have a hot cooked Asian breakfast. And I don’t mean something scrumptious and elaborate like eating out at dim sum, just a simple meal that can be made at home….rice, runny egg, a piece of fish and a side of greens. Hopefully more restaurants start offering something like this lovely set I had today, I’m sure there will be great demand!
